Agricultural Strategy and Policy
The agricultural strategy and policy was elaborated on the basis of different studies conducted within the framework of the Agricultural Census Project namely: the inventory of the agricultural sector, strengths and weaknesses (Food Chain and horizontal studies), the Agricultural Homogeneous Zones and the Institutional study. Furthermore, this strategy was elaborated with the participation of concerned public and private actors as well as of the Professional Organization. The agricultural strategy relied on the fundamental principal choices of Lebanon which are: sustainable development, liberalization and good governance.
The main objectives of the strategy are: redefinition of the agricultural sector, increasing the capacity of absorption, moving from the “distribution” logic to the “project” logic and bringing the “top movement” from the “down movement”.
