Twelve years after the General Census of Agriculture conducted in 1998, a new census will be carried out under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture, with both supports from FAO and the Italian Cooperation. A Core module will take place between August and September 2010. Exhaustive, it will be targeted towards 175,000 farms across the country.
The Observatory (LOAD) will support technically the Regional Services of the Ministry of Agriculture. These Services will be in charge of the census logistics within the 1500 villages of the country.
An information campaign will be launched shortly to explain to farmers the goals, objectives and practical modalities of this important operation.
